What are the International Shipping and Handling Fees?
Shipments outside of the contiguous US, Express delivery, and oversize items will require a fee depending on delivery method.

Worldwide:
All of our products can be shipped to international addresses. For your protection, we prefer to ship to ‘confirmed’ addresses, meaning shipping address and credit card should match in Paypal.

The set fee for up to 10 items per order using GLOBAL Priority-US Postal service is $15.00 (3-4 days). We can make faster secure arrangements via FEDEX/UPS if you contact us prior to placing order.

Who is Fz.S?
With precision, German configuring and a dash of Austrian wit, tempered by Mexican adaptability and French reasoning, Franz Schnaas lends measured restrain, elegance, and improvisation to jewelry design. Having sought an alternative to generic, mass-produced goods he created SPLACE, a notional organization embracing both the practical world of commercial design and the straightforward ambivalence of the conceptual and abstract. By expanding the language of wearable items, deconstructing their traditional forms, he brings about innovation through his ‘moddified’ products.

In his native México Franz was imbued with the mystical and idiosyncratic mutability of his culture’s rich history. Invigorated by the spontaneous elements of life in México City, blended with a European sensibility for clean lines and rational thought, qualities inherited from his German father, a respected architect living and working in the capital, Franz discovered his sense of style and aesthetic eye. He honed his design skills, effected by the study of language structuralism and visual narrative – then began producing conceptual art and photography, later undertaking the rôle of creative director for North American consultancies for interactive media, industrial design, branding and product development, and thus redefined himself as “inter-notional catalyst” –a fusion of conceptual creator and free radical thinker.

Finding himself drawn to more eclectic, nonlinear processes, and to collaboration over competition in the creative process, Franz became a self-styled critical thinker, in(ve)stigator of meanings in contemporary fine art and conceptual design. Embracing collaborators, stimulating notions and peculiar materials that resonated with spontaneity, optimism, contradiction, connectivity, he soon realized that by sharing his revelatory understandings through the transcendent medium of hand-crafted-ness, he could affect and inspire others in an unconventional way. SPLACE evolved.
